Valerie Kiser comes from a family of artists. In high school she attended the NEIU Arts Alive Program that nurtured her artistic passions. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated in 2000 with a BFA in Fiber Art.

Valerie started her own business, Valerie Kiser Design, in 2010, specializing in high quality home decor and apparel using hand printing and woven design techniques. She also does design and styling for residential and commercial settings. Valerie was a founding member of The Pop Up Studio from 2011-2015, an organization that created one-time, interactive, community events in and around Lackawanna County. She was an adjunct professor at Marywood University Art Department from 2011-2016, teaching textile design and fiber art techniques for fine art and commercial applications.

She currently lives and works in the Scranton Hill Section with her husband and two kids.
